Mechanism of action

Inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. Concentration-dependent bactericidal activity. Metabolized to ciprofloxacin.

Side effects & warnings

Do NOT use IV route in small animals (cardiovascular collapse). SC preferred in reptiles. Avoid in young growing animals. Cats: retinal degeneration at >5mg/kg/day.
