A clinical guide to egg binding and dystocia in psittacines — especially chronic egg-layers (cockatiels, budgerigars, lovebirds). Distinguishes functional egg binding from mechanical dystocia, centres the hypocalcaemia link, and lays out a stabilise-first ladder: warmth, fluids, and calcium BEFORE any ecbolic; oxytocin only for a shelled egg with a patent oviduct; ovocentesis and surgery when needed — and never forcing an egg.
