SAFETY AND HANDLING (BSAVA Part B p.148, verbatim): Normal precautions should be observed. ACTION (BSAVA Part B p.148, verbatim): Benzimidazoles bind to a structural protein of the parasite microtubules, important organelles involved in major cell processes, causing paralysis, death and expulsion of the parasites. USE (BSAVA Part B p.148, verbatim): Treatment of monogenetic trematode ectoparasites (e.g. skin and gill flukes) and internal nematodes in fish. Used to kill snails and hydra in aquaria.
