Poultry pharmacotherapy is dominated by withdrawal-period and species-tolerance considerations: backyard flock medicine often draws on extra-label use of small-animal drugs, governed by AMDUCA in the US. Some jurisdictions prohibit what US extra-label rules permit, so confirm your own jurisdiction's extra-label and withdrawal rules (outside the US, e.g. the EU Regulation (EU) 2019/6 cascade and EMA/national MRL data, not FARAD). Coccidiostats are routinely incorporated into commercial feed; ionophore toxicity (in horses, especially) is a downstream concern.
