Mechanism of Action
Oral tridentate iron chelator that binds ferric iron with high affinity, promoting fecal iron excretion.
Side effects & warnings
Nephrotoxic and hepatotoxic. Monitor renal and hepatic function. GI upset common. Limited veterinary data.
