Mechanism of Action
Binds to kinetoplast DNA minor groove of trypanosomes and Babesia. Inhibits DNA synthesis and aerobic glycolysis.
Side effects & warnings
Narrow therapeutic index. CNS toxicity at high doses. Pain at injection site. Used for babesiosis and trypanosomosis in livestock. Not licensed in USA.
