Potent fluorinated glucocorticoid that suppresses inflammation by inhibiting phospholipase A2, reducing prostaglandin and leukotriene synthesis, and modulating immune cell function.
Mineralocorticoid effects can cause hypokalemia — supplement potassium if used repeatedly. Immunosuppression risk. Avoid in pregnant animals. Primarily used in cattle and horses.
