Serax
Short-acting benzodiazepine with no active metabolites (direct glucuronide conjugation). Enhances GABA-A receptor function.
DEA Schedule IV. Useful in patients with hepatic disease (no oxidative metabolism). Appetite stimulant in cats. May cause paradoxical excitement. Idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity in cats (rare).
