Sirolimus is dosed at 0.05–0.1 mg/kg PO q24h in dogs, per Papich Handbook of Veterinary Drugs, 5th Ed. Verify against current literature before clinical use.
Inhibits mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), blocking T-cell proliferation driven by IL-2. Also has antiproliferative effects on smooth muscle and tumor cells.
Immunosuppression increases infection risk. Monitor CBC, liver, renal, and lipids. Drug interactions with CYP3A4 inhibitors. Limited veterinary data outside oncology research.
