Mechanism of Action
Inhibits mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), blocking T-cell proliferation driven by IL-2. Also has antiproliferative effects on smooth muscle and tumor cells.
Side effects & warnings
Immunosuppression increases infection risk. Monitor CBC, liver, renal, and lipids. Drug interactions with CYP3A4 inhibitors. Limited veterinary data outside oncology research.
