Selective SGLT2 inhibitor that blocks glucose reabsorption in renal proximal tubule, causing glycosuria and lowering blood glucose independently of insulin.
Cats only (EU/US approved for feline diabetes). Do NOT use in insulin-dependent/type 1 diabetes or DKA. Risk of euglycemic DKA. Monitor for ketones. Once daily oral.
