Nitroimidazole derivative generating free radicals that damage Trypanosoma cruzi DNA and proteins. Trypanocidal.
Used for Chagas disease (T. cruzi) in dogs. GI upset, anorexia, neutropenia possible. More effective in acute phase. Prolonged treatment (60-90 days).
