Prodrug activated by esterases in the lung to des-ciclesonide, providing localized anti-inflammatory effect with very low systemic exposure.
Very low oral bioavailability minimizes systemic corticosteroid effects. Requires spacer/mask. Alternative for feline asthma patients on long-term ICS.
