Fluralaner is dosed at 2.5 mg/kg PO single dose in boa constrictors, per Cattarossi D, Marchiori E, Marcer F, Zorzi P, Frara E, De Benedictis GM. Single oral-dose fluralaner treatment against Ophionyssus natricis infestation - a large scale study demonstrating long-term efficacy in captive snakes. Inhibits GABA and glutamate-gated chloride channels in arthropod nervous system. Highly selective for invertebrate receptors. 12-week duration.
Seizure risk in animals with epilepsy history. Duration of action: 12 weeks (oral), 12 weeks (topical cats). Do not use in puppies <6 months or <2kg.
