Flovent, Flixotide
Potent inhaled corticosteroid with high receptor binding affinity and extensive first-pass metabolism. Reduces airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness.
First-line inhaled steroid for feline asthma (with AeroKat spacer). 110mcg or 220mcg strength typically used in cats. Takes 1-2 weeks for full effect. Minimal systemic effects.
