Severe influenza

Mechanism of Action

Inhibits influenza neuraminidase preventing release of new virions from infected cells. IV formulation for patients unable to take oral/inhaled antivirals.

Side effects & warnings

Single IV dose. GI upset. Neuropsychiatric events reported (influenza itself may contribute). Renal dose adjustment. No veterinary data.
