Roxithromycin is dosed at 5–10 mg/kg PO q12-24h in cats, per Plumb's Veterinary Drug Handbook, 9th Ed. Verify against current literature before clinical use.
Binds 50S ribosomal subunit inhibiting protein synthesis. Macrolide with improved acid stability and longer half-life than erythromycin.
GI upset less than erythromycin. QTc prolongation possible. CYP3A4 interactions. Not available in US.
