Inhibits calcineurin-mediated T-cell activation. Reduces local immune response and inflammation without steroid side effects (no skin atrophy).
Used for localized atopic dermatitis, perianal fistulas (anal furunculosis), and discoid lupus. Initial burning sensation. No skin atrophy. More expensive than steroids.
