Selective dopamine D2 receptor agonist that suppresses prolactin secretion from the anterior pituitary. Terminates pseudopregnancy and lactation.
Used for pseudopregnancy, pregnancy termination, and suppression of lactation. Vomiting common in first few days. More selective and fewer side effects than bromocriptine.
