Chorionic Gonadotropin is dosed at 250–1000 IU per dog IM once or per protocol in dogs, per Kawakami E, Hori T, Tsutsui T. Changes in plasma luteinizing hormone, testosterone and estradiol-17β levels and semen quality after injections of gonadotropin releasing hormone agonist and human chorionic gonadotropin in three dogs with oligozoospermia and two dogs with azoospermia. Mimics luteinizing hormone (LH) action. Induces ovulation and luteinization of ovarian follicles. Stimulates testosterone production in males.
Used for ovulation induction, cryptorchidism diagnosis, and luteal support. Antibody formation with repeated use reduces efficacy. Anaphylaxis rare.
