Induction of ovulation

Mechanism of Action

Potent GnRH agonist that initially stimulates then downregulates GnRH receptors. Short-acting formulation (SucroMate) induces ovulation; implant formulation suppresses reproductive function long-term.

Side effects & warnings

SucroMate IM injection used to induce ovulation in mares. Implant used off-label for suppression of reproductive behavior. Not for use in food-producing animals with implant formulation.
