Mechanism of Action
Macrolide antibiotic binding 50S ribosomal subunit. Bacteriostatic. Active against gram-positive bacteria and some Mycoplasma.
Side effects & warnings
Safe for use with corneal ulcers. Ointment form provides longer contact time and corneal lubrication. Well tolerated. Limited gram-negative activity.
