Low-affinity partial agonist at benzodiazepine binding site of GABA-A receptor. Anticonvulsant without full benzodiazepine sedation.
Approved in EU/some markets for canine epilepsy. Not DEA-scheduled (advantage over phenobarbital). Less sedation. May be less effective than phenobarbital for severe epilepsy.
