Prucalopride is dosed at 0.1–0.3 mg/kg PO q12-24h in rabbits, per Carpenter's Exotic Animal Formulary, 6th Ed. Verify against current literature before clinical use.
Selective serotonin 5-HT4 receptor agonist stimulating colonic peristalsis and accelerating GI transit. High selectivity reduces cardiac risks.
Used for chronic constipation, megacolon. Limited veterinary data. Diarrhea if dose too high. Fewer cardiac effects than cisapride due to 5-HT4 selectivity.
