Elitek, Fasturtec
Recombinant urate oxidase that catalyzes oxidation of uric acid to allantoin, a highly soluble metabolite easily excreted renally.
Anaphylaxis risk — monitor during infusion. Contraindicated in G6PD-deficient animals. Extremely expensive. Destroys uric acid in blood samples.
