Hypertension (with renal disease)Systemic hypertension

Mechanism of Action

Selectively blocks L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle causing vasodilation. Reduces systemic vascular resistance and blood pressure.

Side effects & warnings

First-line antihypertensive in cats. Dose-dependent hypotension. Gingival hyperplasia reported in dogs. Monitor blood pressure regularly.
