Mechanism of Action

Inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme, reducing angiotensin II formation. Decreases aldosterone, reduces afterload, and attenuates cardiac remodeling.

Side effects & warnings

Monitor renal function and potassium. Hypotension risk especially with concurrent diuretics. Preferred ACE inhibitor in cats (hepatic and renal elimination). CONTRAINDICATED in pregnancy.
