Mechanism of action
Generates free radicals that cause DNA strand breaks and inhibit DNA synthesis. Cell cycle specific for G2 and M phases. Concentrated in skin and lung tissue.
Side effects & warnings
Pulmonary fibrosis is dose-limiting and potentially fatal. Cumulative dose limit. Anaphylaxis risk — test dose recommended. Intralesional use for squamous cell carcinoma in cats.
