Emodepside Oral is dosed at 0.45 mg/kg PO Single dose in dogs, per Altreuther G, Gasda N, Adler K et al. Acts on latrophilin receptors (SLO-1 K+ channels) in nematode neuromuscular junction, causing flaccid paralysis. Novel mechanism without cross-resistance to other anthelmintics.
Generally well tolerated. Effective against larval stages. Some strains of ivermectin-resistant parasites remain susceptible. P-glycoprotein substrate.
