Apresoline
Directly relaxes arteriolar smooth muscle via interference with calcium transport, reducing afterload.
Reflex tachycardia common (often used with beta-blocker). Hypotension. Monitor blood pressure. Used for acute mitral regurgitation and aortic insufficiency.
