Competitive non-selective alpha-adrenergic antagonist causing vasodilation. Short-acting compared to phenoxybenzamine.
Used for hypertensive crisis (pheochromocytoma) and treatment of catecholamine extravasation. Tachycardia, hypotension. Short duration of action.
