Inhibits phosphodiesterase-5, preventing cGMP breakdown in pulmonary vascular smooth muscle, causing pulmonary vasodilation.
Used for pulmonary hypertension in dogs. Hypotension possible. CONTRAINDICATED with nitrates. Monitor systemic blood pressure. Give with or without food.
