Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. Ultra-long-acting third-generation cephalosporin — single injection provides 14 days of therapeutic levels.
14-day duration from single injection — cannot be 'undone' if adverse reaction occurs. Dogs and cats. Good for compliance-challenged cases. Not for Pseudomonas. High protein binding extends duration.
