Leustatin
Adenosine deaminase-resistant purine nucleoside analogue. Phosphorylated intracellularly to active triphosphate form that incorporates into DNA, causing strand breaks and apoptosis.
Profound lymphopenia — immunosuppression lasting months. Myelosuppression. Fever common. Used investigationally for lymphocytic leukemia and low-grade lymphoma in dogs.
