Inhibits topoisomerase II forming DNA-drug-enzyme complex causing double-strand DNA breaks. S and G2 phase specific.
Myelosuppression dose-limiting. Hypotension with rapid IV infusion (infuse over 30-60 min). Oral bioavailability variable. Used in some lymphoma rescue protocols.
