Mechanism of action

Inhibits cytosolic phospholipase A2 (cPLA2), reducing arachidonic acid release from cell membranes and subsequent production of both prostaglandins and leukotrienes, providing broad anti-inflammatory effects.

Side effects & warnings

New veterinary drug — limited long-term safety data. Monitor for GI signs and injection site reactions. Currently indicated for canine use only.

Species-specific contraindications and adverse-reaction reports for dog may differ from canine / feline reference data — consult the primary citations listed with each rule.

Why a species-specific page? Fuzapladib pharmacokinetics differ across species: dose ranges, intervals, and route preferences are not interchangeable. Cross-extrapolation from canine doses is unsafe in dog — the rules above are the citations specific to this species, not generic recommendations.
