Gemzar
Deoxycytidine analogue that inhibits DNA synthesis by incorporating into DNA and inhibiting ribonucleotide reductase. Masked chain terminator mechanism.
Myelosuppression is dose-limiting. Monitor CBC. May cause pulmonary toxicity and hepatotoxicity. Used in dogs for transitional cell carcinoma and other solid tumors.
