Cerenia Injectable
Neurokinin-1 (substance P) receptor antagonist. Centrally-acting antiemetic blocking the emetic center and CRTZ. Injectable form for hospitalized patients.
SC injection can be painful (refrigerate to reduce sting). FDA-approved for dogs. Used off-label in cats. IV dilute and give slowly. Visceral analgesic properties.
