Estrus suppressionEstrus suppression/Behavioral (urine spraying)

Mechanism of Action

Synthetic progestin that suppresses gonadotropin secretion, inhibiting ovulation and estrus. Also used for behavioral modification and dermatologic conditions.

Side effects & warnings

Increased risk of pyometra, mammary neoplasia, diabetes mellitus, and adrenocortical suppression. Use spaying as preferred alternative. Not for long-term use.
