Aglepristone is dosed at 10 mg/kg SC Days 1, 2, and 8 (or days 1 and 2 for mismating) in dogs, per Fieni F. Competitive progesterone receptor antagonist with high affinity. Blocks progesterone action on the uterus, terminating pregnancy or treating pyometra.
Pain at injection site. Not available in the US. Used for pregnancy termination and closed pyometra in Europe. Monitor for uterine discharge.
