Synthetic prostaglandin E1 analog that replaces protective prostaglandins depleted by NSAIDs. Enhances mucosal blood flow, mucus/bicarbonate secretion, and epithelial repair.
ABORTIFACIENT — CONTRAINDICATED in pregnant animals and women handling tablets. Diarrhea common (usually transient). Used as GI protectant with chronic NSAID therapy.
