Terbinafine Oral is dosed at 30–40 mg/kg PO q24h in cats, per Plumb's Veterinary Drug Handbook, 9th Ed. Verify against current literature before clinical use.
Inhibits squalene epoxidase in ergosterol synthesis. Fungicidal against dermatophytes. Concentrates in skin, nails, and hair.
Hepatotoxicity — monitor liver enzymes. GI upset. Drug interactions (CYP2D6 inhibitor). Effective for dermatophytosis resistant to azoles. Excellent keratin concentration.
