Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to PBPs. Resistant to staphylococcal penicillinase, providing targeted activity against penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus spp.
Cross-allergenicity with other beta-lactams. GI upset common with oral administration. Primarily used for staphylococcal mastitis in cattle.
