Inhibits dihydropteroate synthase in the folate synthesis pathway. Long-acting sulfonamide with bacteriostatic activity.
Ensure adequate hydration (crystalluria risk). Monitor CBC with prolonged use. KCS risk in dogs. Avoid in animals with hepatic disease.
